HOME, AGAIN

This week we headed to Beaver Creek, Colorado (near Vail) for a little family vacation. It was so nice to take a break from all the details of moving. Here are a few highlights:

Swimming...a highlight of any child's vacation! Helen has finally decided that swimming is "so fun!" We only got to go twice because the heater was broken. I am sure we will be swimming more this summer.

Seeing the wildlife: a racoon, dear, lizards, and this fox playing with two birds!

Helen and Pun had fun picking out "pretty rocks" to bring home.

One afternoon on our way back to the hotel to put the kids down for a nap, we walked passed this gentleman playing his horn. He was quite the entertainer, so we stopped to listen to him. He played "the itsy bitsy spider" song for Helen and Daniel. They were speechless! :)

Helen and Daniel listening to the man with the horn.

Finally, on our way home we stopped in Fruita, CO, a little town just before the border of Utah, to give the kids a break. Fruita is known for dinosaur fossils that have been located in the area. We decided to take a hike on "Dinaosaur Hill", a very rocky hot walk, especially at 2:00 in the afternoon. We told Helen we were hunting for dinosaurs. We even called out to them, but sadly, none came out to see us. So when we found this little guy, Helen was pretty happy.

So were we. We chased him all over taking his picture and had a great time. All was not lost, though, we did find a dinosaur and took his picture, too.

We had a great time, but we are glad to home once again.

Hey Merri,
This is a great idea. It will be exciting to follow you and Pun on this new "adventure". Carol and I will be praying for you two and we know God will give you many opportunities to serve Him.

What a fun trip it looks like you guys had! Was it just the four of you? I can't get over how much Helen looks like you. Darling kids!

When do you all make the BIG move? I can't imagine trying to figure out how to ship everything and pack. Do you sell all your furniture and just get new?

Thanks, you guys! We are excited, too. We sure appreciate your prayers. Any chance you might come West this summer?

Hey, Karen, thanks for commenting. I see now how nice it is when someone takes the time to do it!!

Yes, it was just the 4 of us. We did have a nice time.

We are planning on moving in August, at least at this point. Yes, we had 3 yard sales and sold almost all of our furniture and many of our other possesions. It was sort of freeing to liquidate so much!

By the way, your post about my blog and our friendship meant a lot. I think of you as a wonder friend, too. And I, too, am excited about keeping in contact more, now.

Thanks, Merri! I really am glad that you are doing this. We just don't talk like we used to by phone so we can get reacquainted this way and talk every day if we want!! :)

I bet it was nice to get rid of stuff. We just had a garage sale and it was nice to unload all the unused baby stuff and just clean out all the unnecessary. I just can't imagine getting rid of all our furniture and stuff we use everyday. But then, I can't imagine moving to Thailand either!

Merri - I am so excited for you and your family! I will be so amazing for you to keep seeing God open doors and direct you. We have some missionaries that we know is Bangkok - they have an amazing ministry. I will have to get you their info. We will be praying for you.

Sounds good, Karen. I am looking forward to keeping in touch with a lot of people. I haven't always been good at that so I hope this will keep me accountable!

Val, Thanks for commenting. I enjoy your blog as well and tried to comment on it, but I couldn't figure it out. I will try again, though.

Please let me know who the missionaries are. We really want to make as many contacts as possible. I love hearing that people have friends in Thailand.

Thanks for your prayers.
